Golf wins state VISAA title
Saints get their second state title in the past three years.
The varsity golf team put together an impressive performance to win the state VISAA golf championship Monday, May 22.
The Saints tore up the Meadowbrook Country Club with three players earning all-state honors. On a soggy day at the 18-hole, par 70 course, the Saints shot 292 to down Collegiate by five strokes.
Connor Johnson '18 (72), Drew Brockwell '18 (73) and Clifford Foster '18 (73) all earned all-state honors, with precocious 8th grader Taylor Jefferson (74) scoring and nipping on their heels. Ben Cooper '19 (77) and Alex Brown '19 (89) carded the other StC scores.
The Saints won the title in 2015 as well, and have taken three of the past seven state golf titles. Everyone who competed in the Prep League and state tourneys for the Saints will return in 2018.
