Lacrosse finishes season 11-8

STAB "just too good."
Lacrosse coach John Burke summed it up best in an interview with the media after an 18-7 loss to St. Anne's-Belfield Tuesday.

"They were just too good today," quipped the 29-year lacrosse boss.

StC sliced the lead to 7-4 after a tough 6-1 first quarter, but STAB poured it on from there to keep the Saints at a distance.

"At our place we had a little bit of momentum and I think [today] we got to 7-4 and I think if we’d been able to stay close it might have created a little bit of doubt in them."

StC (11-8) struggled down the stretch after starting the season 6-1. The Saints got two goals from Jackson Begley '17. Luke Valentine '19, Davis Gillenwater '19, Willy Bemiss '17, John Damgard '17 and Hartley Jordan '19 scored a goal each.

The Saints lose vital cogs to graduation, but returned a boatload of talent in 2018. The undefeated JV team will undoubtedly have players come up and hopefully make a positive impact next year.
