Tennis subdued in state quarters

Collegiate too much.
The varsity tennis team had its season end Tuesday, falling at Collegiate 5-0 in the state VISAA quarterfinals.

Just a few days ago, the Saints were jubilant after winning the Prep League title at Collegiate's Goochland facility. But things didn't go as well this time around as the Cougars ended the match in singles. No Saint could muster a victory to force doubles as the match ended before No. 1 singles were finished.

Coming off of two straight state titles, the team had a great season behind captains Jackson Barkstrom '17, Alston Hackney '18 and Eli Rhodes '18, claiming a Prep League title that the two aforementioned teams did not win.

Barkstrom, Rob Jessee '17 and Spencer Seward '17 will graduate, but loads of talent remains and will move up from the JV level for the 2018 season.
