Donate your old bikes at one of three locations on campus
Trough Friday, April 21, the Missionary Society will be collecting old bikes to refurbish and give to Richmond area children in need as well as adults who are trying to get to work but do not have access to viable transportation. Tens of thousands of Richmonders are in this situation and we can help them one at a time by getting them wheels for fitness and wheels for work. Donations of ANY SIZE BIKE are welcome IN ANY CONDITION (partnering businesses are ready to repair)!

Donations are tax deductible, just pick up a form at the front desk of any of the three divisions.

The drive is for a limited time: 4/3- 4/14 and there are THREE DROP OFF SITES AVAILABLE:

Lower School: Beside the main entrance on the Pepper Avenue carpool

Middle School: Bike rack behind MS building

Upper School: At the bottom of the stairwell next to the senior lot

* If you do not have a bike, but wish to help, we welcome financial donations towards helmets and locks. Make checks payable to St. Christopher's School with "Ride to Re-entry" in the memo line and send them to the attention of Chaplain Whitney Edwards. For information, feel free to contact our Upper School Chaplain, Whitney Edwards: edwardsw@stcva.org

About the two organizations:

Ride to Re-entry | Watch Chapel Talk

"Ride to Re-Entry" is a program that brings mobility to Richmond's neediest and hardest working residents--its employed citizens returning from incarceration. "Without the bike, I would have probably ended up back in prison because I wouldn't have been able to make it to probabtion or find a job because lots of the jobs tend to be far away," says Warren, a participant in the Ride to Re-Entry program. "I'm thankful....I thank God that I'm free." Your donation of an adult bike or bikes will help someone like Warren make a new start.

Rag and Bones Bicycle Cooperative is a non-profit community organization that aims to provide equitable access to cycling for leisure, recreation, and transportation. The Co-op is a grassroots project founded in a small garage in the fall of 2011. It has answered an existing need for affordable bicycle transportation and has grown rapidly with community support. The Co-op today still upholds the principles of providing access to knowledge on bicycle maintenance, repair, and safety through an inclusive, safe and casual setting.
