Randy Johnston '75 and his trio play the 2010 Cafe

Jazz guitarist and his band play original tunes to a full room
Recently St. Christopher's alum and jazz guitarist Randy Johnston '75 and his trio played to a full room in the 2010 Cafe. Johnston, who spent 34 years living and performing in New York City, recently moved back to Virginia–a place he assured his audience was "far better than New York!"

In addition to his excellent guitar chops, Randy sang several tunes, with a delivery reminiscent of Ray Charles.

Several of Randy's classmates and friends from his time at St. Christopher's were in attendance including Hatley Mason '75 and Steve McGehee '74.

Randy is one of the most widely recorded and prolific guitarists of his generation–He has released 12 albums as a leader for the Muse, Highnote, J Curve, Mel Bay and Random Act labels and has appeared on dozens of recordings with other top recording artists. Learn more about Randy on his website.

Thank you, Randy, for coming back to St. Christopher's and sharing your music with your alma mater!
