The Class of 2016 college athletic commitment list continues to add length.
Soccer standout Ben Vaeth '16 will play for Sewanee, he recently decided. Vaeth was a four-year starter for the Saints and excelled in the midfield as a senior.
The Richmond Strikers club-team veteran put up 11 goals and 11 assists in 2015 en route to all-Prep League and second-team all-state VISAA honors.
"After soccer season ended for high school I was really bummed and I realized I didn't want to give [soccer] up right away," said Vaeth, who rejoined his travel soccer team after the season, where Sewanee was impressed with his play. "Sewanee called me up, had me go on a visit and it kind of just all fell into place."
Vaeth considered a walk-on spot at James Madison, but felt Sewanee was the best fit. He'll joint Christian Alcorn '13 (Williams), Kameron Holloway '15 (Randolph-Macon), North Carolina commit Drew Romig '16 and Myles Brown '15 (Notre Dame) as Saints who are playing soccer at the next level.
