AP Psychology students examine original Rorschach Test cards

Longtime staff member Alice Flowers brought in original cards used by her late father, a psychiatrist.
This week StC archivist Alice Flowers brought original Rorschach Test cards that belonged to her late father, a psychiatrist, into Dr. Ann Vanichkachorn's AP Psychology class. Mrs. Flowers shared stories about her father's time as the lone psychiatrist in the European Theater during the Second World War, including one incident when he had to evaluate General George S. Patton following the notorious incident when he slapped a soldier who was being treated in hosptial for battle fatigue.

The Rorschach test is a psychological test in which subjects' perceptions of inkblots are recorded and then analyzed using psychological interpretation.

Students took turns describing what they saw in the cards and comparing their responses to data that suggested different personality characteristics.
