Swanson '16 places 7th in U.S. Olympic Trials

Sunday night, Charlie Swanson '16 placed seventh in the 400-meter individual medley at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska. His time was 4:21.62.
Swanson needed to place in the top two to earn a spot in the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
The Michigan-bound Swanson actually posted a faster time - 4:19.85 - in placing sixth in heat four in the prelims before the final.
Swanson placed 124th in the 100 breaststroke, but his time was only 5.78 seconds back of first place. Not bad for a rising college freshman.
