Mission, Values, and Charge

Our Charge
To grow students into men of character. To prepare them intellectually, physically and spiritually to be leaders of the next generation.
Mission Statement
St. Christopher’s School prepares a talented and diverse group of boys for college and for life in an ever-changing world. Through a rigorous academic program and a supportive community experience, the School fosters personal integrity and honor, the achievement of each boy’s full potential, love of learning, spiritual growth, respect for others, leadership, and civic responsibility. St. Christopher’s strives for excellence and seeks to make an enduring difference in the lives of its boys.

OUR VALUES
At St. Christopher’s, leadership is not about titles, privileges, or levels of authority for a chosen few. Our commitment is to help each student make a positive difference while pursuing meaningful goals. Whatever the endeavor, we strive to ensure that our boys have the knowledge, skills and strength of character to execute ethically and effectively.

Skills are developed through our whole-boy approach in academia, athletics, community service and extracurricular activities. In all these areas, we emphasize creative problem-solving and intellectual risk taking to prepare students to make a positive impact in a rapidly changing, interconnected world.

The Honor System and the Missionary Society, both student-run, reflect our core values. The Honor System, founded in 1915, is more than a pledge to refrain from lying, cheating or stealing. It is a code, a way in which to develop a life-long commitment to honor and to learn the importance of personal responsibility, trust, and moral courage. The Missionary Society, started several years later, undergirds our definition of leadership as putting oneself in a position to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

St. Christopher’s School welcomes qualified students without regard to race, color and national or ethnic origin, and actively seeks diversity among its students, faculty, and staff.
